Privacy Policy

Paseo collects the following information when you use the app:

• Location data — GPS coordinates captured at the moment you create a pin. Location is not tracked in the background and is not collected at any other time.
• Music data — Song titles, artist names, album artwork URLs, and streaming service identifiers attached to your pins. This comes from Apple Music (via MusicKit) and song identification (via ShazamKit).
• User-generated content — Trip names, pin notes, and comments you write.
• Profile information — Your username, email address, and optional profile photo, collected at sign-up or when you edit your profile.
• Device identifiers — An APNs push token, used only to deliver notifications to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

We use the data we collect solely to provide and improve Paseo's core features:

• Pinning songs to locations and building your trip map
• Social features — following, discovery, collaborative playlists
• Sending notifications about comments, followers, and collaborator activity
• Processing subscriptions via RevenueCat

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or third-party marketing services.

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on AWS infrastructure. All data is protected by row-level security policies — your private content is never accessible to other users.

Passwords are handled entirely by Supabase Auth and are never stored in plaintext. Paseo never sees your password.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the app:

Profile tab → gear icon → Delete Account

Deletion removes your profile, all trips and pins, comments, follows, likes, and push tokens. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Paseo requests When In Use location permission — we only access your location while the app is open.

GPS coordinates are recorded only when you explicitly create a pin. We do not run background location tracking, geofencing, or any continuous location collection.

You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Paseo.

Paseo integrates with the following services to provide its core functionality. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

Paseo is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
